Watching: Breaking Bad is on hold until Lasana's next visit, but I've been secretly enjoying Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee. Jerry Seinfeld really knows his cars and though the scenic drive to the designated cafe in each episode is more interesting than the actual comedy, I think the concept is good. What's better than catching up with friends over food and drink?! Sony Pictures just signed Jerry up for 24 more episodes of the online show this year. So I guess other people kinda like it, too. Here's one episode that actually makes me laugh.
Listening to: Meklit Hadero + Quinn DeVeaux! My hunny turned me on to their covers album, and I recently discovered this gem on YouTube. Porto Franco Records has some other cool artists that are worth checking out here.
Loving: Hot yoga class! It's the perfect cure for cold weather and the winter blues. Plus, Lisa Blood's Hot Lava class at Yoyoyogi is the BOMB!
Eating: Clean! Not just for the new year, but this is my thing year-round, most of the time. After an entire week of eating out and grabbing food to go, this week I'm prepared for good home cooked meals. I've already made a delicious red lentil and sweet potato stew and even created a great miso- dressing for my grain and veggie bowls. Lots of green juice on the menu this week, too.
Reading: The final chapters of A Moveable Feast by Ernest Hemingway. His reflections on life in Paris as a young man are quite dreamy. Can you imagine living "well" in Paris (eating well and traveling too) on just $5 a day? That was then. Now, Hemingway leaves a lasting impression about living the artist's life in the 1920s and about some other very famous writers and painters including Gertrude Stein, Ezra Pound, Scott Fitzgerald and Picasso. It must have been all such a hoot.
Wishing: Kazembe was here. Always.

Meklit will perform Mayne Stage in Chicago on February 2nd. Of course, I'll be in the wrong city on that day :/

I reread this post and DO like it more. I DO like what's going on with your currently. I DO dig your taste in music and art and self. I DO like how we align and how we differ on those fronts. I AM looking forward to seeing you again very soon. Even if we had enough time... it would still not be enough time. Thanks, love.
